How NOT to do it

May 18, 2010

This is Tony Abbott showing how not to give an interview.

It is astonishing.

And hilarious.

The Alternative Prime Minister is a douche… a DISHONEST douche. Which is no surprise really.

The Unfortunate Reality of the Star Wars Prequels is That They Will Be Around… FOREVER.

May 4, 2010

RedLetterMedia’s  review of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace is one of the funniest things I have seen in AGES. It has been around for a while but it still cracks me right up.

You need over an hour to watch it.

Take the time people. Take the time.

(P.S. It is a bit trippy but that is all part of the fun)

NEW MUSIC ALERT

May 3, 2010

Check out this new clip from one of Sydney’s finest bands Ernest Ellis

This is the second single off their upcoming debut record Hunting.

They are also playing at Splendour and no doubt will be touring their backsides off once the record drops so get out and see them!

Also, that keys player is HOT

That is all.

May 2, 2010

The Antlers first album  is a concept record called Hospice. It set in a Cancer ward. No, it is not very cheery… but the music is great.

New Music Safari…

April 30, 2010

No I am not providing any in this instance but I am going to direct to a website the lovely Melissa Cooper alerted me to recently.

We Are Hunted uses conversations online to track the most talked about ‘emerging music’ (their phrase not mine) and publishes the top 99 artists…

It can be hit and miss sure, but it is a good way of finding something new and it has certainly resulted in a couple of purchases.

Happy hunting you guys…

Introducing… Das Racist

April 26, 2010

As Jacinta Woodhead points out on the Overland blog this week, these guys are pretty awesome.

I like that  they also seem to have a complex relationship with New Yorker’s music reviewer Sasha Frere-Jones. Frere-Jones does not spur me to pen Haiku however. Well, not yet anyway.

Their debut record is available to download for free… which is nice.
